Southern Vietnam biking tour in 11 days: Saigon - Vinh Long - Chau Doc - Can Tho - Dalat - Bao Loc - Mui Ne – Saigon

Day 1: Arrival in Saigon

Arrival in Saigon. Meet our guide at the airport and transfer to hotel in Saigon. Welcome dinner and tour briefing in the evening. Overnight in Saigon

Day 2: City tour & Cu Chi Tunnels

After breakfast in hotel we take a city tour to see the different faces of this bustling city on a full day tour with extensive visits to the Re-Unification Palace, the Central Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Jade Emperor Temple and the Ben Thanh market. Lunch in local restaurant. After lunch we drive to the famous Cu Chi underground tunnel system to experience how the Viet Cong lived and fought during the American War. Back to Saigon in the afternoon.

Day 3: Sai Gon – My Tho – Vinh Long

Leave hotel for Long An at 8.30 am. We drive around 1hr to reach Long An, where we begin our interesting biking day over a picturesque area of expansive rice fields, luxuriant fruit orchards and plenty of small canal. After 2hr biking we will reach My Tho, a quiet town by the bank of the Mekong River. Lunch break in My Tho before riding to Vinh Long, the capital of Vinh Long Province which lying between two big branches of the Mekong River. From My Tho to Vinh Long we ride on small paved roads running through a vast expanse of rice field. Upon arrival in the small town of Cai Be we take an interesting boat trip to cross the mighty Mekong River to reach a village on a small island in the middle of the river, where we spend the night in a local home. The home-stay will be an unforgettable experience and can give you a unique insight into the culture of the locals. A fantastic dinner with local delights is cooked by the family.

Day 4: Vinh Long – Chau Doc

After breakfast we say goodbye to the family and cross the Mekong River on boat. We will take a bus transfer to the peaceful town of Sa Dec, which is famous for its many nurseries of flower and bonsai. Here we begin riding to Cho Moi, a small town known for its rich groves of fruit. The ride in the morning is on the smooth paved road along the Mekong. Lunch in Cho Moi before taking more biking in the afternoon to reach Chau Doc, a pleasant little town near the Cambodia border. We will have a panoramic view over the vast plain of the Mekong Delta and far into Cambodia. Dinner in local restaurant and enjoy an orientation tour of Chau Doc by xe dap loi (pulling cyclo). Overnight in hotel.

Day 5: Chau Doc - Can Tho

Breakfast in town and begin our biking to Long Xuyen, the capital of An Giang Province. The morning ride is on good national road along the Mekong. Today the traffic is a bit busier but the biking is not less interesting as we riding along one of the busiest section of the Mekong River. Lunch in Long Xuyen Town and then continue riding to Can Tho, the economic, cultural and transportation centre of the Mekong Delta. Dinner in local restaurant and overnight in hotel.

Day 6: Can Tho – Saigon

Early get up for a great boat trip to one of the busiest floating market in Southeast Asia. We will see a lively and colorful market on a large bend of the river. Boat trip back to town for breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast cross the Mekong on public ferry and ride to Vinh Long. Lunch on the way and bus transfer to Saigon in the afternoon. Tour ends in Saigon.

Day 7: Saigon – Dalat

Breakfast in hotel and free untill we are transferred to airport for short flight to Dalat. Upon arrival in Dalat we take a bus ride to our hotel in Dalat. Check in hotel and enjoy a city tour to explore Dalat in the afternoon. We will visit to Centre market, King Bao Dai Palace and XQ embroidery. Overnight in Dalat.

Day 8: Dalat – Di Linh

Breakfast in the hotel before we jump on our bike and head east through rose farms with stunning views of Langbian Mountain and drop through a jungle forested valley. We stop at Elephant Waterfall for a quick break before continuing the ride through a spectacular section of pine forested hills, rice paddies and small fruit orchards and vegetable farms. Lunch in local restaurant.  We reach Di Linh in late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in a clean and comfortable guest house in Di Linh.

Day 9: Di Linh – Mui Ne

Today the ride goes through small minority villages and jungle forested valleys to the beautiful beaches below. The first section of riding is through coffee plantations and forest and includes a 5 kilometer uphill climb to get you warmed up. This is followed by plenty of down hill and rolling sections. A final long downhill pass is completed before the road flattens out with a long cruise to Highway 1, where the ride ends and our vehicle transports us the rest of the way to Mui Ne. Upon arrival in Mui Ne we check in a resort in Mui Ne. Overnight in Mui Ne.

Day 10: Mui Ne

Today is just free time for you to enjoy the beautiful beach of Mui Ne and get recovered from the ride. Overnight in Mui Ne.

Day 11: Mui Ne – Saigon – Departure

We check out in the morning and drive back to Saigon. Trip ends in the airport.
