Ba Be is Vietnam’s largest natural lake and is now the centre piece of an extensive National Park. The park and the surrounding area is limestone country, so lakes, waterfalls, caves and unusual rock formations abound. The whole area is richly forested and is home to many ethnic minority communities. Ba Be National Park has been recognized as a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be Lake – Pac Ngoi Village

8:00 am we leave Hanoi for Ba Be National Park, the biggest natural lake in northern Vietnam. Ba Be Lake is a famous Nature World Heritage Site which also called “Halong Bay on mountain”. We will have a stop for refreshment in Thai Nguyen. Quick visit to Thai Nguyen Museum of ethnology to learn about different ethnic minorities in northern Vietnam. Continue to Bac Can for lunch. After lunch, we continue to Ba Be. Upon arrival in NP, we take a short boat ride to Pac Ngoi Village. Tonight we will have dinner and overnight in local house.

Day 2: Pac Ngoi – An Ma Island – Dau Dang Waterfall – Pac Ngoi

Breakfast at the home stay. We will have a short motorcycle ride to starting point where we begin a short walk through jungle. At some rest place we can have great view of Ba Be Lake. After 1hr trekking we descend to the lake shore and cross a bridge to An Ma Island. Visit to the temple on the island before we start the kayaking time. Leave the island we paddle to Dau Dang Waterfall we we will have a picnic lunch in a beautiful natural setting of the waterfall. After lunch we paddle back to Babe Lake. If weather permits we can swim in the emeraude cool water of the lake. Paddle back to Pac Ngoi village for another night at the home stay.

Day 3: Pac Ngoi – Puong Cave – Boc Luom Dock – Hanoi

Breakfast at the homestay. We take a boat ride from the village to Puong Cave, a huge natural tunnel through mountain. We continue cruising upstream the Nang River to Boc Luom Dock where we get on our van for the ride back to Hanoi. Stop on the way for lunch. Back to Hanoi in the late afternoon. Trip completes.
