Northern Vietnam kayaking tour: Hanoi - Halong Bay - Cat Ba National Park - Hai Phong - Hanoi

This Northern Vietnam kayaking offers you true meaning of adventure. Starting with hydrofoil trip to Cat Ba Island, we have some time to enjoy the quiet town with beautiful beaches, fine sea food and beer. The next day is a big challenge since we trek through jungle and have a chance to see the panorama of Halong Bay from one of the mountain summits we would conquer during the trek. After the trek we camp on a quiet beach to round up an adventure day. The next day is great paddling time, as you will paddle our unique route to explore Lan Ha Bay and continue to Halong Bay where we will spend the last night on a deluxe overnight junk. This tour offers flexibility in activity levels while still combining the best of sea kayaking. It is a good Vietnam tours for both novice and experienced kayaker alike with a little more time to spare.

Day 1: Hanoi – Hai Phong – Cat Ba

5.30 am: Leave Hanoi for Hai Phong. Breakfast in Hai Phong. Take 1-hr hydrofoil to Cat Ba Island. Upon arrival in Cat Ba we check in hotel and spend the rest of the day to explore the town or relax on Cat Co beaches. Overnight on Cat Ba Island.

Day 2: Trek Cat Ba National Park – Camping on beach

Breakfast in the hotel before taking a beautiful bus ride along the coast to reach Cat Ba National Park. Today we will have a long trek across dense jungle to reach the peaceful village of Viet Hai. Short break at Frog Lake. We will have lunch in a local house in Viet Hai village. After lunch we walk to Viet Hai Quay for a short paddling on Lan Ha Bay to a beach where we will spend a night in bamboo hut. Dinner and overnight at the beach.

Day 3: Kayaking Lan Ha Bay & Halong Bay

After breakfast on the junk we start paddling across Lan Ha Bay and reach Ba Chai Dao Beaches at noon. Lunch on the support boat. In the afternoon continue paddling to Dark Cave. Tide permitting, we explore this amazing cave by kayak. The cave is a 200m long, dark tunnel thrusting through a limestone mountain. The tunnel is the only entry to a secluded and beautiful lagoon. After the exploration of the cave we paddle to our overnight junk in Halong Bay. Dinner and overnight on the junk.

Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi

Breakfast on the junk and enjoy the sundeck of the junk while she navigates amazing rock formations of Bai Tu Long Bay to get back to Halong City. Lunch on the junk before reach Halong Harbor for a drive back to Hanoi. On the way back to Hanoi we will have a stop in Dong Trieu Town for refreshment and visiting to a ceramic factory. Trip completes in Hanoi.
